1. Who we are

Cernira is an AI training data platform based in Paris, France. We can be reached at hello@cernira.com.

2. What we collect

When you create an account or use Cernira, we collect:

  • Account data: email address, name, profile image (if signing in with Google), institutional verification information (e.g., student ID, RPPS number) for annotator profiles.
  • Authentication data: OAuth tokens, session identifiers, sign-in timestamps.
  • Work data: annotations, labels, evaluations you produce on Cernira tasks; QA reviews; aggregated quality metrics.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, error logs.

3. Why we collect it

  • To authenticate you and provide access to the platform.
  • To match you with annotation projects relevant to your expertise.
  • To pay you for work delivered.
  • To comply with legal obligations (KYC, tax, accounting).
  • To improve and secure the service.

4. Where data is stored

All personal data is stored in the European Union (Amazon Web Services, region eu-west-3 / Paris). We do not transfer personal data outside the EU for storage. Service providers we use (Google for OAuth, Cloudflare for DNS, Amazon SES for outgoing email) may process data in transit per their own policies.

5. How long we keep it

  • Account data: while your account is active, plus 12 months after deletion (legal/accounting retention).
  • Annotations: for the duration of the contract with the buying AI lab, plus 24 months.
  • Payment records: 10 years (French tax law).
  • Authentication logs: 12 months.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. You can exercise these rights anytime by emailing hello@cernira.com. You can also file a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for session management (NextAuth session token). We do not use marketing or analytics cookies without your explicit consent.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified by email to your registered address.
